Name

I have four different names, each representing a different aspect of my identity. It's interesting to note that people usually refer to me by a specific name depending on the particular identity through which they know me.

The first name is my given name, which is used by my family and everyone who knew me before university. There's nothing particularly remarkable about this name.

The second name is the nickname I use in real life, Jiro. I chose this nickname for myself during my university years, and I have been introducing myself with this name ever since. The main reason I chose a nickname was to make it easier for others to remember my name. Through my personal experience, I have found that people tend to remember those who use nicknames more easily. In contrast, I hardly remember those with Chinese transliterated names.

The third name is Exacuerer, which is the name I use in gaming and online communities. The origin of this name dates back to when I was playing the game "Dragon Nest". As I created multiple characters, I found it troublesome to come up with names each time. To simplify the process, I randomly translated some English words into other languages and chose a word that sounded pleasing as my name. Later on, the character with this name became my main character, and people within the guild started using "Exa" as a nickname for me. I gradually got used to this nickname. Later on, I noticed that whenever I played a new game or needed to create an online username, the name "Exacuerer" was always available. Now, it has become my preferred online alias.

The last name is, of course, my sona name. When I was coming up with a name, my initial thought was to find a name related to the color blue or cyan. Then, I found the surname Aoki (青木), which means "blue/green wood". As for the first name, it originated from the name of my partner character in SAO:FB. While playing the game, I needed to choose a name for my partner character, and the name "Tokiro" came to mind. I don't have a specific reason for selecting this name, as it was more of a subconscious decision. Combining them, I created my sona name.
